Every nurse practitioner track at Graceland University now asks for 750 practicum hours, split 225, 225 and 300 across three practicums. The DNP counts practice hours instead, and the RN programs use practice experiences. Matching the preceptor to the track
Each track needs a different kind of clinician. FNP practicums run in primary care with nurse practitioners or physicians who see children and adults. AGACNP practicums move from hospitalists and pulmonology to the ICU and then to intensivists or emergency teams. PMHNP practicums need a psychiatrist or a certified PMHNP every time, with patients across three age groups.

How many practicum hours does Graceland's online FNP require?
Students who started in August 2023 or later complete 750 hours: 225 in NURS6740, 225 in NURS6760 and 300 in NURS6830, which always comes last. The FNP program guide breaks it down practicum by practicum.
Which Graceland NP tracks are there?
Graceland runs three nurse practitioner specialties: family, adult-gerontology acute care, and psychiatric mental health. Each comes as an online MSN, as a post-graduate certificate for nurses with a master's already in hand, and as a track inside the BSN-to-DNP.
Does Graceland still offer an MSN in nursing education?
Not as an MSN track; it was dropped after 2016-17. Nurse Educator continues as a short online post-graduate certificate with no practicum, which students can add to an MSN or DNP plan.
Do Graceland's NP programs meet on campus?
Only the AGACNP track has a required focus session on the Independence, Missouri campus. FNP and PMHNP focus sessions run on Zoom, although one PMHNP course description still says face to face. The focus sessions guide covers both.
