How we place Graceland University NP students, step by step
We take on the part of the Graceland University practicum process the handbook leaves to you, the search, and shape everything we find to fit the steps Graceland runs after it. Each of our steps sits beside the Graceland step it feeds: your paperwork deadline, Appendix A, Appendix B, the affiliation agreement, the second preceptor and the approval email.

Before Graceland sees anything: plan, search, ask

The Graceland paperwork, prepared before you file
- Your Appendix A detailsYou get the site's name, each street address you will train at and the contract contact, arranged to match the online Appendix A you submit through myGraceland. The criminal-charge attestation on the form is yours to complete.
- Appendix B, walked through with your preceptorWe brief your preceptor on what Appendix B asks, from your student ID and Sting address to the course and term, plus the unique email address that becomes their Typhon login.
- The affiliation agreement, started earlyBecause the contract contact is in your Appendix A from the first submission, the contract coordinator can check for an existing agreement or send a new one without chasing details. A site with its own request software is flagged for you to report.
- Through to the approval emailWe stay in touch until every preceptor and site has its approval email, Typhon shows the listings and you have the emails ready for your instructor.
Your second preceptor, planned from the first
Your three practicums must involve two or more different preceptors, and one clinician can teach you in two terms at most. We map the whole sequence at the outset: who covers each practicum, where a split is needed (a hospitalist plus a pulmonologist in NURS5450, for example), and how you reach the recommended 120 hours with an APRN or NP for certification eligibility.
We also follow the order Graceland sets: NURS6830 last for FNP students, and NURS6841, NURS6842 and NURS6843 in sequence for PMHNP students. Any second preceptor for a term is lined up well before the two-week window in which Graceland stops accepting requests to add one. The two-preceptor rule page explains Graceland's counting.
If a preceptor steps away mid-plan
When a preceptor withdraws, your placement advisor starts a replacement search as soon as you tell us, aimed at a clinician who fits the same course so your remaining hours keep counting toward it. While the new paperwork moves, Graceland's substitute rule can help: a single substitute can step in for as many as 40 hours at your main site that term with no Appendix B.
We also work to keep it from happening. Graceland discourages dropping a preceptor after the forms go in, so we confirm schedule, setting and expectations with each preceptor before anything is filed. Preceptor dropped out covers what to do first if it happens to you.
What stays with Graceland, and what stays with you
Graceland approves every preceptor and site, sends every affiliation agreement, issues the approval emails and lists you in Typhon. You keep your Castle Branch packages current, complete the drug screen and background check on Graceland's timeline, submit Appendix A and attend your focus sessions. Our work makes each of those steps smoother; the decisions stay with Graceland.
If you have chosen NPHub for a practicum, that practicum follows NPHub's own steps, which the handbook sets out and our NPHub option page summarizes. Students on that route often still come to us for a different practicum, for the second preceptor, or because they live in Minnesota, which the handbook leaves outside NPHub's coverage.

Questions Graceland students ask
How early should I contact you before a Graceland practicum?
As early as you can. Graceland's handbook talks of starting as much as a year or longer before a first practicum, largely because new site contracts are slow. Two or three terms ahead is comfortable; if your deadline is only weeks away, contact us anyway and read need a preceptor fast.
Which Graceland students do you help?
Graceland NP students on the FNP, AGACNP and PMHNP tracks, in the MSN, the post-graduate certificates or the BSN-to-DNP. DNP practice hours and RN-BSN practice experiences have thinner published rules, so there our starting point is whatever your course and track coordinator require.
Do you submit Appendix A for me?
Appendix A is the student's own online submission through myGraceland, and Graceland accepts it only in that form. We prepare every detail it asks for, from the site's name to each address and the contract contact, so you can complete it in one sitting with nothing missing.
Can you help if I'm using NPHub for another practicum?
Yes. Each practicum is approved on its own, so we can search for a practicum you are not using NPHub for, or line up the second preceptor Graceland's rule requires. Tell us which practicum NPHub is covering so we plan around it.
Do you place Graceland students in Minnesota?
Yes. The 2026 handbook says NPHub serves most states except Minnesota, so Minnesota students usually run their search with Graceland's help or with ours. Graceland's approval rules apply there exactly as elsewhere, including an unencumbered RN license in Minnesota for any hours you complete there; the Minnesota page covers the state.
