Studying with Graceland University from Alabama
Graceland University's MSN chart, dated June 2020, answers "Yes" for Alabama, reasoning that the state's nursing board accepts graduates of programs with federally recognized accreditation and that Graceland's School of Nursing holds CCNE accreditation. Practicums bring one Alabama-only wrinkle: an out-of-state advanced practice program has to tell the board about its students before their clinical learning in the state begins.

Each Graceland chart is stamped June 2020. Alabama's four rows:

Two quirks stand out. The MSN row begins by saying the Alabama board leaves post-licensure programs unregulated, an odd fit beside the clinical rule described next. And the DNP chart, which in 49 rows mislabels the degree as the RN-BSN, gets Alabama's row right. Alabama's notice rule comes before any clinical day
Alabama asks outside schools to announce themselves. Rule 610-X-3-.09 of the state's administrative code covers prelicensure and advanced practice programs headquartered elsewhere: no later than 15 days ahead of the first clinical learning experience, the school sends the board its letter of intent with supporting approval paperwork. Per the board's FAQ, students stay out of Alabama clinicals until that approval exists.
What goes in the filing is granular: every student by name and RN license number, the supervising clinician by name and license number, the facility, and a statement from the facility's nursing executive, its DON or CNO. Faculty who teach students located in Alabama for over 30 days in a year must hold Alabama or multistate licensure too.
The School of Nursing owns that filing. Your part is timing. Before your Appendix A goes in, ask your track coordinator how Graceland handles Alabama, and keep your preceptor's license number and the site's nursing leadership contact on hand.
Collaborative practice and the Alabama search
On AANP's scale Alabama sits in the reduced-practice group. Every NP there practices inside a formal collaboration with a physician, and NP practice answers to two regulators at once, one for nursing and one for medicine. Expect most NP preceptors to work beside a collaborating physician, who may precept you as well if board-certified or board-eligible; the whole standard lives on the preceptor requirements page.
Birmingham students tend to start with UAB Medicine and Huntsville students with Huntsville Hospital Health System. Mobile offers USA Health, the University of South Alabama's academic system, alongside Infirmary Health, while Montgomery has Baptist Health. Each runs its own student intake: doors to knock on, not sites committed to Graceland.
APTIP, a state income tax credit run by the Alabama Statewide AHEC Program Office, rewards some preceptors in medically underserved rural areas. The credit is tied to rotations for schools with a physical home in Alabama, which leaves out anyone precepting a Graceland student.
Your RN license for Alabama hours
Alabama has honored multistate RN licenses since the compact took effect there at the start of 2020. The board's distance-education guidance says RN-BSN, MSN and DNP students doing clinical work in the state must be licensed to practice there, either through Alabama's own unencumbered license or through a multistate one that a fellow compact state issued.

How far ahead does Alabama need to hear about my practicum?

Will my Alabama preceptor get APTIP credit for teaching me?
APTIP is limited to rotations supporting Alabama-based schools, and Graceland's campuses are in Iowa and Missouri, so a Graceland rotation falls outside it. Your preceptor completes Graceland's Appendix B each term instead.
