Indiana nurses and Graceland University's online NP tracks
Indiana is a workable home base for Graceland University's online NP students. The June 2020 chart puts Indiana in the meets column, noting that the Indiana Board of Nursing does not review graduate programs, and Indiana has been a compact state since July 2020. The edges take more care: Illinois, to the northwest, is outside the compact, and Graceland's chart says its MSN does not lead to licensure in Kentucky, across the Ohio River.

Indiana on Graceland's June 2020 chart
Graceland's four licensure charts carry a June 2020 date and have never been reissued. Indiana's MSN row is a single sentence explaining that the Indiana Board of Nursing reviews and accredits no graduate nursing programs. Graceland records Indiana as a Yes, since there is no Indiana board approval for a master's program to obtain. The answer covers the NP tracks, the RN-to-MSN and the certificates alike.

Clinical placements from a school outside Indiana
The Indiana State Board of Nursing, housed in the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, accredits in-state programs that train people for initial RN or LPN licensure. RN-BSN and graduate programs fall outside its review, and rule 848 IAC 1-2-4, which defines eligible programs, speaks only to pre-licensure schools. Research turned up no Board filing for a graduate or RN-BSN school elsewhere that places students in Indiana.
That leaves Graceland's ordinary path doing the work: the site signs an affiliation agreement with Graceland, your preceptor completes Appendix B, and the contract coordinators approve both. Indiana NP practice and search areas
AANP rates Indiana as reduced practice: every NP there works under a state-regulated collaboration agreement with a physician that covers some part of practice. Your NP preceptor will have one in place, and Graceland judges them by its own preceptor standards.
Indianapolis-Carmel-Greenwood, with about 2.2 million people, is where most searches start, and Fort Wayne follows at about 466,000. Community Health Network, Indiana University Health, Ascension St. Vincent, Parkview Health and Franciscan Health are the big names; every one sets its own student rules, and none is offered here as a known Graceland site. Two slices of Indiana belong to out-of-state metros: about 729,000 residents live in the Chicago metro's Indiana corner, while roughly 281,000 more live on the Indiana side of greater Louisville.
Your license at the Illinois and Kentucky lines
Indiana's compact membership began July 1, 2020, about two and a half years after Missouri and Iowa joined. An Indiana multistate license covers hours in other compact states, and Graceland's license rule is satisfied once the board verification sits in Castle Branch. The borders split two ways. Northwest Indiana students who find a Chicago preceptor need an Illinois RN license too, because Illinois never joined the compact. Southern Indiana students looking at Louisville have the license covered, since Kentucky is a compact state, but Graceland's June 2020 chart says its MSN does not lead to licensure in Kentucky, so ask Graceland whether it will approve a Kentucky site before approaching one. Questions Graceland students ask
Does Indiana make Graceland register before I do NP clinicals there?
No such requirement came up in research. The Indiana board states that it leaves graduate and RN-BSN programs unreviewed, and its program rules concern pre-licensure schools. Graceland's own steps still apply in full: an affiliation agreement with the site, Appendix A and Appendix B, and approval from the contract coordinators.
Can I study Graceland's online PMHNP from Indianapolis?
The June 2020 chart counts Indiana as a Yes for the MSN, which includes the PMHNP track. Graceland confirms its current approved states only on request, so check with the contact on the School of Nursing page before enrolling, then again before any move out of state.
Will my Indiana license work for a practicum in Chicago?
Not by itself. Illinois stands outside the compact, which means an Indiana multistate license gives no privilege there. You would need an Illinois RN license from IDFPR, verified by that board, before any hours at a Chicago site count toward a Graceland practicum. The Illinois guide covers the state's other rules.
Does the DNP chart's No stop me from doing a Graceland DNP from Indiana?
The DNP and RN-BSN rows say those programs are post-licensure and lead to no new license, which is true in every state. Whether Graceland takes DNP or BSN-to-DNP students from Indiana is an approved-states question; Graceland's BSN-to-DNP admission text asks students to live in approved states and plan their practicums there.
