New Mexico, where Graceland University's chart says "Unknown"
For New Mexico, Graceland University's June 2020 MSN chart gives neither a yes nor a no. The MSN was built to prepare students for licensure in Iowa, New Mexico's Board of Nursing has not approved it, and Graceland says it cannot tell whether the degree meets New Mexico's educational requirements. If you live here or plan to move here, settle two things before enrolling: licensure with the board, and practicum approval with the School of Nursing.

Who this page is for
An "Unknown" row neither closes Graceland to you nor means the MSN leads to licensure here; the answer simply has to come from somewhere other than the chart. Three groups of readers benefit most.
- New Mexico residents considering an NP path (MSN, certificate or BSN-to-DNP): put two questions in writing, one to the New Mexico Board of Nursing about how it would view an Iowa-approved NP program, one to the School of Nursing about taking students who live here.

- DNP and RN-BSN students: your programs are post-licensure in every state, so the chart's "No" is routine. Where your practice hours may happen is still a School of Nursing question.
One wrinkle: the FNP program page describes practicum work as possible across the whole country plus Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, yet the School of Nursing's own wording limits students to approved states. For New Mexico, rely on the School of Nursing's written answer.
New Mexico's rule for clinical placement
A program whose clinical or field experience in New Mexico stretches past one semester must ask the board to approve it for clinical placement (16.12.3.11(A)(2) NMAC), and one already approved by another state's board has to meet the minimum standards in the next section, 16.12.3.12. That part of the code is framed around programs leading to New Mexico licensure; it never names NP or RN-BSN programs.
Graceland's three NP practicums fill three trimesters, so a student doing all of them in New Mexico would train here well beyond one semester. Whether the rule reaches Graceland is for the School of Nursing and the board to settle. Those rules also set a floor for clinical preceptors: at least two years as a nurse, plus licensure no lower than the one the student is preparing to hold.
Practice, systems and licensing here
AANP rates New Mexico full practice, so NPs here practice under the nursing board's authority without a required physician tie. Students searching the state tend to look around Albuquerque first, then Las Cruces, Santa Fe and Farmington. Presbyterian Healthcare Services is one system on their lists. Others are Lovelace Health System, UNM Health System (home to New Mexico's sole academic medical center) and, in Santa Fe, CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center. They are places students ask, not sites cleared for Graceland. No New Mexico preceptor incentive is on record.
New Mexico is a compact state, under the current compact since January 19, 2018, and its board issues multistate licenses. Graceland needs board-verified RN licensure where you live and wherever you train, as the RN license guide explains, and PMHNP telehealth also requires a license in each patient's state.

Questions Graceland students ask
Can I enroll in Graceland's online MSN while living in New Mexico?
The chart does not answer that. Graceland's School of Nursing takes students only from states where it holds approval for NP practicum experiences, and it publishes no list; applicants check their own state with it. Ask it about New Mexico, and ask the New Mexico Board of Nursing about licensure, before you apply.
Would a Graceland MSN let me get NP licensure in New Mexico?
Graceland's June 2020 chart says it cannot determine that, because the MSN is designed for Iowa licensure and New Mexico's board has not approved it. Only the board can tell you how it would review an application from a Graceland graduate, so contact it before enrolling.
I'm a Graceland student moving to New Mexico. What comes first?
Talk to the School of Nursing and Program Advising before you sign a lease. Graceland warns that relocating mid-program can affect whether you can continue, and a new state needs its own practicum approval and RN license.
Does the "Unknown" answer affect Graceland's DNP or RN-BSN?
Not in the licensure sense. Both are post-licensure, and every state's row for them says they lead to no license, New Mexico included. Where your DNP practice hours or RN-BSN practice experiences can happen is something to settle with the School of Nursing directly.
