A single MSN answer applies across Graceland's nurse practitioner options, from the three NP tracks to the RN-to-MSN route and every post-graduate certificate, and Nevada is one of 13 states where it reads unknown.

The MSN row closes by pointing would-be Nevada workers to the state board before enrolling. Do that, then ask the School of Nursing whether Nevada is among the states it currently takes NP students from; the licensure chart guide explains why those questions differ.
Nevada's board and internet-delivered programs
The governing regulation is NAC 632.703. Any school delivering some of its program inside Nevada files the Board's report form, with accreditation proof, evidence of compliance with Nevada's nursing statutes and yearly school reports. Clinical instruction by an internet-based program needs Board approval first, and the school's faculty teaching in Nevada need Nevada licenses.
The regulation treats graduate and pre-licensure programs alike. Yet the Board's September 1, 2026 roster of out-of-state schools allowed to run just their clinical component in Nevada lists only ADN and BSN programs. Whether Graceland NP practicums need that approval is Graceland's determination, so settle it with the School of Nursing before calling any clinic.
Board practice decisions add two points. Anyone giving hands-on care to a patient located in Nevada, students included, needs a Nevada nursing license. And under a 2005 decision, program faculty direct all precepted clinicals, while an on-site preceptor oversees no more than a pair of students together, with an orientation and written objectives from the school.
Practice rules and where Nevada NP students search
Nevada is a full practice state in the AANP's ratings, though newer NPs there must log two years or 2,000 hours before writing Schedule II prescriptions alone, unless a protocol signed off by a physician covers them. With a recently certified preceptor, ask how the clinic manages controlled substances. Nevada records no state preceptor incentive.
Southern Nevada holds most of the population: the Census Bureau's 2025 estimate put roughly 2.4 million people in the Las Vegas-Henderson-North Las Vegas metro, versus roughly 579,000 around Reno and far fewer in Carson City. Students in the south often try UMC, the region's academic medical center, plus Sunrise (an HCA system), Dignity Health and The Valley Health System; up north, students look to Renown Health. Every one of them decides student requests on its own terms, and none is known to be open to Graceland.
The license Nevada practicum hours require
Compact privileges end at Nevada's border, because the state never joined the Nurse Licensure Compact. Graceland's rule asks for a clean license, confirmed by each board, both where you live and where hours happen; at a Nevada site that means a license Nevada issued. Graceland's FNP page describes practicum work as possible in any U.S. state, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands, while the School of Nursing's admission rule is narrower, limited to states where it holds approval for practicum experiences. For Nevada, plan around the narrower rule until Graceland says otherwise.

Questions Graceland students ask
Can I start Graceland's online FNP while living in Las Vegas or Reno?
The June 2020 chart lists the MSN as unknown for Nevada, and Graceland enrolls NP students only from states it is cleared to place in, without publishing that list. Email the person listed on the School of Nursing web page before you apply, and ask the Nevada board about licensure, as the chart suggests.
Will Nevada license me as an NP with a Graceland MSN?
That decision belongs to the Nevada State Board of Nursing. Graceland's row explains that its MSN was built for Iowa licensure without Nevada board approval, so Graceland cannot say whether it meets Nevada's education standard. Ask the board before enrolling and keep its reply with your records.
I'm a DNP student in Henderson. Does the DNP chart's No matter?
It describes the degree, not your eligibility: a post-licensure doctorate creates no new license in any state. Your DNP practice hours still need a practice mentor and site near home, and Graceland's pages leave unstated who arranges them, so ask your faculty advisor whether Nevada's online-program rule reaches those hours.
Could a preceptor who already hosts another student still take me in Nevada?
Often, if they have room. The Nevada board's 2005 decision lets one on-site preceptor oversee a maximum of two students together. If your candidate already hosts a learner from another school, confirm their load for your trimester before the paperwork reaches Graceland.
