The contract coordinators, and everyone else on your practicum team
At Graceland University, the contract coordinators run practicum paperwork through one shared mailbox, soncontracts@graceland.edu, and Graceland asks that every practicum email go there. Around them work the Graduate Practicums Coordinator, the lead faculty for each practicum course, your track coordinator and Program Advising. Sending each question to the role that owns it gets you a faster answer.

The contract coordinators at soncontracts@graceland.edu
The contract coordinators sit at the center of Graceland's practicum paperwork. The handbook lists them under clinical practicums and agency and preceptor contracts and says that all emails about practicums should come to soncontracts@graceland.edu. Write from your Sting account, since that is Graceland's official channel with students.
What the coordinators handle
- Reading your Appendix A and checking whether the site already has an affiliation agreement
- Sending a new agreement to the agency when one is needed
- Receiving Appendix B copies that arrive by email or on paper
- Reviewing your Castle Branch record and every form, and emailing you about missing items
- Telling the lead faculty or track coordinator which students are ready before the term
- Sending one approval email per approved preceptor and site, then listing you in Typhon
- Monitoring every preceptor change
RN-BSN students use the same mailbox. The RN-BSN handbook lists it for practice experience contracts and for students who need a Graceland ID for a site.
The Graduate Practicums Coordinator
Graceland's flowchart describes the search step as the student finding a preceptor “with help from the Graduate Practicums Coordinator.” That role is the working face of Graceland's shared model, in which the university and the student collaborate to locate preceptors and practicum sites.
The handbook uses both titles, Graduate Practicums Coordinator and contract coordinator, without saying whether they are one person, one team or two. Since every practicum email belongs at soncontracts@graceland.edu, start there and say that you want help with the search itself.
The handbook also tells students who are struggling to reach the lead faculty for the course and/or a contract coordinator well ahead of the deadline. The finding your own preceptor page explains how that shared search works today.
Lead faculty for each practicum course
Every practicum course has a lead faculty member, and Graceland makes the lead faculty and/or a contract coordinator responsible for approving preceptors and sites. Lead faculty are the right people for questions of course fit: whether a practice counts as primary care for NURS6760, or whether a specialty outside the listed ones can fill part of NURS5460, which the handbook allows on request.
The handbook organizes them by track. Each FNP practicum (NURS6740, NURS6760, NURS6830) has its own lead. One lead covers all three AGACNP practicums (NURS5450, NURS5460, NURS5470), and one covers the PMHNP practicum courses, a group in which the handbook includes NURS5430 alongside NURS6841, NURS6842 and NURS6843.
People move between roles, so check the current handbook for who leads your course this term rather than relying on a name a classmate gave you.
Track coordinators and course instructors
Each track has a coordinator: FNP, AGACNP, PMHNP and DNP. When your paperwork is complete, the contract coordinator reports you as ready to the lead faculty or the track coordinator before the trimester starts.
Track coordinators are also who to ask when Graceland's own documents disagree, such as the PMHNP hour split between the handbook and the program page, or the week of the AGACNP focus session. The current handbook and your track coordinator settle those questions.
Your course instructor is who sees your approval emails on the first day of class, and faculty stay in touch with your primary preceptor through the practicum. Your instructor and preceptor also set up random midterm site visits between them; see evaluations and site visits.
Offices outside the practicum team
Three more offices touch your practicum even though they never approve a preceptor. Each has its own program mailbox.
| Office | What goes to them | How to reach them |
|---|---|---|
| Program Advising | Completion plans, course changes, drops, withdrawals and electives | programadvising@graceland.edu |
| Graduate Programs Office | License, testing and certification forms, including ANCC and AANP education verification and letters for state boards | songraduateprograms@graceland.edu |
| Student Financial Services | Payments, aid and the financial clearance that is one of the seven conditions before hours count | myfinancials@graceland.edu |
A delayed practicum is a completion-plan question as well as a paperwork one. If a site falls through near the deadline, the contract coordinators handle the practicum side and Program Advising reworks your plan; our delayed graduation guide shows the effect on your finish date.
Writing an email that gets a quick answer
The coordinators handle paperwork for every graduate NP student in every term, so a complete first message saves a round of replies.
- Send it from your @sting.graceland.edu address
- Put your track, course number and term in the subject, for example
NURS6830Spring 2027 - Give your full name and student ID
- Name the site, its address and the preceptor, if you have them
- Ask one clear question and state the deadline you are working to
If you still have no site two weeks before your deadline, say so plainly. Graceland asks for that notice at least two weeks ahead, leaving time for help or an extension, and it treats communication as central to the whole process.
Where we fit alongside Graceland's team
Graceland's coordinators and faculty approve; our job is to bring them a complete request that fits the rules. Graceland students choose us because we take on the searching and the legwork those roles depend on: a preceptor who suits the course, a site ready to sign, every address listed and every Appendix detail ready before the deadline.
When a coordinator asks for something, we help you answer quickly and correctly, and we plan the second preceptor before it becomes urgent. You keep your own line to Graceland, and every message you send the coordinators arrives with the facts they need to act. Start with the form below.
Questions Graceland students ask
What is soncontracts@graceland.edu used for?
It is the contract coordinators' shared mailbox and Graceland's single address for practicum correspondence: Appendix questions, affiliation agreements, emailed Appendix B copies, missing items, approval emails and preceptor changes. RN-BSN students use it for practice experience contracts too. Send from your Sting account so the reply reaches you on Graceland's official channel.
Is the Graduate Practicums Coordinator the same as a contract coordinator?
Graceland's handbook uses both titles without saying whether they are one role. The flowchart credits the Graduate Practicums Coordinator with helping students find preceptors, while the contract coordinators handle agreements and approvals. Graceland asks that all practicum email go to soncontracts@graceland.edu, so begin there.
Who do I contact if I cannot find a preceptor?
The handbook's answer is the course's lead faculty, a contract coordinator, or both, reached through soncontracts@graceland.edu long before your deadline. With no site at all, give notice at least two weeks ahead. The stuck without a preceptor page covers what to do next.
Who approves my preceptor at Graceland?
A contract coordinator and/or the lead faculty member for the practicum course. They weigh the preceptor's credentials, license, experience and patient mix against the course, and the coordinator sends your approval email once the site agreement and your records are complete.
Who do I ask whether Graceland accepts students from my state?
The School of Nursing page names a contact for that question and says Graceland takes students from the states in which it holds approval for practicum experiences. No list of approved states is published, so ask before planning a practicum in a new state. See the licensure disclosures page.
