New Jersey on Graceland's chart, and practicums there
On Graceland University's licensure chart, dated June 2020 and the latest it has posted, New Jersey is one of 13 states where the MSN's answer is "Unknown". Graceland is saying it has no New Jersey approval to measure the degree against, not that the degree falls short. Confirm your standing with the School of Nursing first.

Graceland's MSN sentence moves in three steps. The degree was built for licensure in Iowa; it is "not approved by the New Jersey board to lead to licensure in New Jersey"; so Graceland cannot say whether it meets New Jersey's educational requirements. Anyone intending to practice here is told to reach the state board before enrolling.
Two small errors show the charts' age: the BSN to RN chart splits the state's name into "Ne w Jersey", and the DNP row describes Graceland's "RN-BSN program". Neither changes an answer, but both are reasons to ask the School of Nursing, through the contact on its page, for a current reading and whether it accepts students from New Jersey at all.
Joint protocols and who can precept you
AANP puts New Jersey in its reduced-practice group because NPs there need joint protocols with a collaborating physician before ordering medications or devices. Your NP preceptor prescribes through that partnership, and the physician partner can precept you too if board-certified or board-eligible. Graceland bars physician assistants in every state; who cannot precept you lists the other exclusions.
Research found no New Jersey Board of Nursing rule asking a school based elsewhere for notice or approval before sending students into New Jersey clinics. Subchapter 1 of N.J.A.C. 13:37 covers the board's accreditation of in-state programs, and ยง 13:37-1.10(c) handles the reverse case, New Jersey programs placing students elsewhere. The board's website itself could not be reviewed, so ask the board about any posted guidance.
Two metros, and a question at every border
New Jersey splits between two giant metros. About 7.1 million residents count toward New York-Newark-Jersey City and about 1.4 million toward Philadelphia-Camden-Wilmington, while Trenton-Princeton and Atlantic City-Hammonton stand on their own. RWJBarnabas Health, Hackensack Meridian Health, Virtua Health, Camden's Cooper University Health Care and Atlantic Health System are major systems with their own student processes; treat them as landmarks for your search rather than sites known to host Graceland students.
A clinic across the river does not solve an Unknown answer. New York is one of five states where the chart says the MSN will not lead to licensure, and Pennsylvania carries the same Unknown as New Jersey. Read the New York guide before eyeing a site in New York City, and remember that any cross-border clinic needs its own affiliation agreement and a license valid there.
Licenses for New Jersey practicum hours
New Jersey's compact membership dates to November 15, 2021, so a multistate license issued by New Jersey or another compact home state covers practice here. That answers Graceland's rule that your RN license be unencumbered both where you live and in the approved state where the practicum happens. PMHNP students doing telehealth need a license wherever each patient sits. Patients in Pennsylvania or Delaware fall inside the compact; a patient in New York, a non-compact state, requires New York licensure. The separate APRN Compact has no New Jersey enactment.

Questions Graceland students ask
Can a New Jersey nurse enroll in Graceland's online PMHNP program?
Only Graceland can answer that. The June 2020 chart gives New Jersey an Unknown for the MSN, and the School of Nursing admits NP students from states where it is approved to offer practicum experiences. Ask it before applying, and ask the New Jersey Board of Nursing how it would view the degree when you seek NP credentials later.
Could I do my Graceland practicum hours in New York instead?
Crossing the Hudson swaps one question for a harder one. Graceland's chart says the MSN will not lead to licensure in New York, New York has no compact membership, and a New York clinic would need its own license and affiliation agreement. Talk to the School of Nursing before building a plan around one.
Does my New Jersey multistate license work for practicum hours in Pennsylvania or Delaware?
Both are compact states, so the license lets you practice there. Graceland still wants a board verification for each practicum state and a state where it is approved, and both carry the same Unknown answer on the June 2020 chart. Clear any site across the state line with the contract coordinators first.
Can a New Jersey NP precept me, or must it be a physician?
An NP with at least an MSN and the experience Graceland asks for can precept you, even though New Jersey NPs keep joint protocols with a physician to prescribe. A board-certified or board-eligible physician is the other option. Graceland's full standard is on the preceptor requirements page.
